Childhood Apraxia of Speech -  a motor speech disorder, when the child demonstrates difficulty correctly producing sounds, syllables, and words, due to motor planning and difficulty coordinating oral muscle movements (for example, making inconsistent sound errors and demonstrating difficulty imitating sounds and words).

2. Articulation Disorders - characterized by producing sounds incorrectly by substituting a sound, leaving off a sound, and/or adding or changing a sound, past a certain age (for example, saying "wabbit" for "rabbit").

3. Phonological Processes - characterized by children producing sounds incorrectly due to a pattern of errors (for example, substituting sounds made in the back of the mouth for sounds made in the front of the mouth; producing "tiss for kiss" and "dirl" for "girl").
